A three-year partnership turning a proprietary, emotion-based methodology into a measurable online program — complete with a custom scoring engine.
Korn Ferry (Hay Group) is a pioneer people-management and consulting firm with over 3,000 employees across 88 offices in 50 countries. Over the years they have built deep people expertise and some of the richest databases in the field — helping companies benchmark performance and leadership at country and global levels, and get their people strategy right.
Hay Group had powerful proprietary tools and techniques, imparted to internal stakeholders and managers through on-the-job training and mentoring. With offices and personnel spread worldwide, it became imperative to disseminate these complicated methodologies online. The content was about abstract emotions — called “Motives” — and evaluating user responses was qualitative, the kind of judgement that would normally need AI to grade. The content was complex.
Ideaon created a multi-part course with custom simulators that let users perform the evaluation scoring. We used our proprietary IP to architect the course and deployed customised avatars to symbolize proficiency and expertise. Senior instructional designers deciphered the content; highlights included content-compliance controls, style standardization, and a scoring engine to capture abstract, qualitative elements within a story. Built in SCORM 2004 (2nd Edition) and deployed on the Learn.com LMS.
This project showcases our custom eLearning development at its most complex. Read more about teaching emotional intelligence in online settings.
“I am very pleased to say that the Motives project has been a fantastic success. It has been quite a journey for both Ideaon and us over the past three years, and I’m proud of what we have accomplished … we look forward to the next chapter of projects with Ideaon.”
